Senior Data Engineer - Databricks

Hybrid (1 day per week onsite, Ireland) | Competitive Daily Rate

My client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer on a 12-month rolling contract to support key data and analytics initiatives. This role will focus on building scalable, cloud-based data solutions and delivering meaningful insights across the business.

Role Highlights:

• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using Databricks, Python, and PySparkWork across cloud and on-premises environments, including Snowflake and object storage
• Integrate data from various sources, including APIs and flat files
• Improve and streamline existing SQL logic, views, and stored procedures
• Partner with business teams to build reports and dashboards using Power BI
• Support data quality, lineage, and governance using tools such as Atlan or Monte Carlo

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience in data engineering within cloud-focused environments
• Strong skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Solid understanding of data modelling techniques
• Strong communication skills and experience working with business stakeholders

Nice to Have:

• Background in Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers
